Meteor Blows Hole In Earth
Here is a fictional newspaper artical I wrote:
Five hours ago a huge meteor hit Earth right in the money, physically. Las Vegas has been left devastated, in fact there is no Las Vegas anymore there is just a big hole. Pictures were hard to get because the KBG (In Russian: Комитет государственной безопасности) or the Russian secret service had locked down the area. Strange…the Russians in the USA, a meteor “unexpectedly” falls directly on Las Vegas, and no Law enforcement or military personal are anywhere to be seen What we think?…WAR.
The economic destruction that followed the impact may be permanent. Japanese Battleships have been spotted and so have some Japanese landing crafts. Both have been spotted on the Pacific coast of the USA. However, we have found one lucky person who barely escaped the impact of the meteor. Her name is Lily Magpie. ”It was very strange, last night I saw a big explosion in the sky.
The next day there was a small black dot in the sky. By lunch I was huge and a few hours later it blocked out the sun. After a few more hours it blocked out the sun. Just then I remembered that I forgot my pet rock at my grandmother’s house. I got into my car and drove out of Las Vegas. It was 30 minutes that I was on my way home but just as I reached the city limits I put on the brakes. There was no home just a big hole.” There is your civic opinion but what about the scientific one?
Scientist Robert Jones says that the “big explosion” was a distant super-nova that changed the meteors course towards earth.”

No commentsIt’s Not My Fault
It’s not my fault, were the four words that constantly repeated in the Nate family. In fact they were so repeated that someone had to do something about it before it got out of control! For example, this morning Eliza Nate was happily drawing in her room, when suddenly she heard her mother coming down stairs. Quick as a bunny she pretended to clean her room.
“Eliza, what have you been doing?” questioned Eliza’s mother
“Well…ahhh…uhhmm” mumbled Eliza
“Nothing, that’s what you’ve been doing, I bet that you only started cleaning when you heard me come down the stairs” said her mother
“Well, it’s not my fault that my room is not clean!”Exclaimed Eliza
“Then whose fault is it?” asked her mother impatiently
“It’s Lisa’s fault, she made the mess”
“Lisa? You mean your friend who came for a sleep over just a couple of days ago?”Inquired her mother
“Yeah, she helped me make the mess, so, she should help me clean it up” Eliza told her mother
“Well don’t you worry, I’ll make sure that Lisa never comes to our house again, then she can’t make a mess. But in the mean time you clean up for Lisa. I’m sure you won’t have any trouble keeping your room clean if Lisa’s not here” said her mother while she was walking out the door
“What have I done?” mumbled Eliza as she started to cry
Eliza spent the rest of the day in her room, mostly crying while she cleaned her room. After she had finished cleaning she started to think of a plan that would make mother change her mind about Lisa.
“Ok, I go upstairs and tell Mom that I’m done cleaning my room and it wasn’t Lisa’s fault that my room was unclean.” Eliza said to herself
And that was that, Eliza didn’t wait any longer she went straight upstairs and said:
“Mom I’m done cleaning my room, and it wasn’t Lisa’s fault that my room was unclean”
“That’s very good but will you clean your room by yourself every time it gets “unclean”?” asked her mother
“Yes, I promise” said Eliza
“Well in that case, Lisa can come and visit us again” announced her mother
From that day forth Eliza always cleaned her room when it was disorganized, and never again did she blame anything that was her fault on someone else.
The Door
About the middle of July, during the eleventh through sixteenth years of my life, my parents would allow me to visit my grandfather on his estate in Italy. His estate was a French-style chateau, but it wasn’t the chateau that interested me. What interested me on his estate was the remaining structure of a medieval castle. Within the castle’s great room, at the northwest corner, was a stone stairway that led to what would appear to have been a cellar. At the bottom of the stairway was a sturdy and robust oak door.
I took me several summers to find it. There had been a barricade of useless items in front of the door. Old building stones, timbers, and varied items of debris were there for centuries serving as an obstacle to its discovery.
I was sixteen years old when I was finally able to wedge open the door just enough to peer through that darkened threshold. From the light of my flash light, I saw nothing. The light seemed to stop at the door, I should have too. But curiosity overcame my feel of instinct. I felt surprisingly calm for the amount of time that I spent digging this “archaeological” find out.
“Do hurry up” wailed my impatient sister behind me.
“Not yet, I want grandpa to come too” I replied
“Fine but hurry up and get him!” said my sister obnoxiously.
“No need, I’m already here” said grandpa
Excitedly, I grabbed a timber from the floor and began to wedge the door for a wider opening-an opening I could go through. After squeezing through the door opening, I was overwhelmed by…by…by…well it cannot be described, there was a feeling of danger, old and a feeling of safety and new all at the same time.
“Aghaaa!”My sister screamed
“What is it?!” I asked
“The door shut by itself” she said in a sacred voice.
Needing fresh air, I tried to open the door. I yanked and I jerked but it was no use, it would not budge. Desperately I looked for an opening. But just as I have feared there were none close to us. Then I grabbed my sister by the arms and told her to stay close. If we are going to get out of here we are going to get out of here together. The rest of the story is rather frightening; therefore reader is advised. I decided that while we’re here we might as well find some candles and supplies (we never got to the supply part). Candles because I wanted to conserve battery power on my flashlight. Fortunately, I found some candles nearby. I lit one with some flint that I found then amazingly the candle shown brighter than my flashlight ever did, but that was not important.
“Wow!” My sister and I said simultaneously
“Look at all this stuff,” I said
And indeed there was more stuff here than in my grandmas nine storage units. There were coins and chests and armour and… Wait! The armour had some sort of a stick sticking out from it. When I took a closer look…
“Aghh, a human skeleton is in that suit of armour!”
My little sister fainted! From there I had to carry her. The other funny thing was that the deeper I went the dizzier I got. Then one simple thought cleared my mind like a very strong perfume!
“If there is a skeleton here then that means that somebody died here, and that means that either they couldn’t find an opening or that there is some other danger frightening and killing in here.” I thought out loud
“A light!” I exclaimed
Not for one second did I stop to think what that light was, I just started running toward it. I reached the door that I started from.
“Did I scare you?” said grandpa laughing.
“Hey, was it you who closed the door?” I asked sternly.
“Yes” said grandpa in a laughing voice.
“We have to go kids,” shouted dad
The shout woke my sister who was more than happy to be awake. We hurried upstairs for today we were heading home.
I don’t know if that was a joke or not but what that skeleton was doing there I shall never know. But little did he know that grandpa was the skeleton, but fake grandpa killed him. Anyway he lived happily ever after… or did he?

The boy and the woods (Part1)
“Come on Ben it’s not like the woods are haunted or anything” said Mark to his best friend Ben
“Yeah I know it’s just that these woods give me the creeps” replied Ben as he tried to catch-up to his friend.
“Oh, come on we’ll be late” Mark whined
“Late for what, your girlfriend’s costume party” giggled Ben
“For the millionth time, she is not my girlfriend, just because she invited you and me to her party doesn’t mean that she is my girlfriend.” Explained Mark in an annoyed voice
“Sure, we’ll go with that” said Ben in an annoying type of voice.
“Well anyway we’re here.” Replied Mark excitedly
Jenny opened the door and politely welcomed them. The party was a very nice, there were drink and food, but most importantly there was backyard indoor swimming pool. Ben was in the swimming pool when he heard a voice:
“Ben I know you can hear me, you must save us, you must save us!!!”
Ben looked around there was nobody near him, but then who talked to him? When the party was over Ben and Mark left for home through the city instead of the woods.
“Ok, now tell me why you dragged us all the way through the city instead of the shortcut through the woods” demanded Mark
“I afraid to go there… I heard a voice when we were at the party and it scared me half to death” replied Ben in a frightened voice.
“That is the worst excuse you ever made Ben, good bye” said Mark angrily
“Mark wait!”Screamed Ben
But Mark was already gone. Ben entered his home feeling miserable. He had made his friend angry and scared himself to death.
“What could make this day any worse?” Ben said to himself
“Honey, how was the party” asked Ben’s mother
“Terrible” replied Ben
“I’m sorry to hear that, would you like some”
“No mom I think I’ll go straight to bed” interrupted Ben
“Alright sweetie, good night “said Ben’s mother
“Goodnight Mom” replied Ben
But little did he know that the very forest that he traveled through this afternoon was speaking to him…
