It was three days after Christmas and all of the kids on the block were playing with their presents. Some got Wiis others got movie and all sorts of other new modern items. Everyone was happy, everyone but Jake. Jake was a ten year old boy who always wanted the newest and best of the electronic world this included things such as 10GB memory sticks Xbox 360 Elites and of course the best of the new mp3 players around. But this Christmas Jake was especially unhappy because this Christmas or to be precise, three days after this Christmas Jake got the one thing he only saw in his nightmares… a book!
“Look mom, at the very least can you buy me an IPod “pleaded Jake
“Sorry kiddo, that book is your Christmas present and that’s final. “ Replied his mom
“What good does a book do me, there isn’t even an on/off button” Jake muttered to himself
Hours later Jake’s little brother Sam came into his room and asked Jake what he got for Christmas,(he knew but he loved to tease him). Jake told Sam to get out of his room but Sam insisted to stay until Jake read the first page of the book he got for Christmas. Seeing that there was no other way to get rid of Sam, Jake took the book from his table and started to read. Sam left after Jake finished reading the first paragraph. But Jake did not stop reading he loved the book! After this Jake continued to read many books, but this book was special because this book taught him the joy of reading!
