“Whoa! Calm down Dave” said Tom

“No, no calming down, I’m leaving tomorrow whether you are coming or not” replied Dave

“But you don’t even know where you’re going “insisted Tom

“Oh, I do, I know, I just need to see a map” said Dave

They quickly hiked down the hill and went to the library. When they arrived at the maps and geography section they found an atlas of the world. And there it was, from their town (Kelloney) to the undiscovered east. In between them and the east there were approximately five major cities and un-countable towns.

“There, we have to go over the Elnora River, through the city of Nemberigh, over the prairies, and over the mountains.” explained Dave

“Then what? “Asked Tom suspiciously

“I don’t know “said Dave “But I do know that we should stay out of the way of the mayor until we get back”

“I agree with you on that one” admitted Tom “And it would be pretty cool to find out what lies on the other side of those mountains.”

Good then we are settled, the day after tomorrow we will leave. But tonight we need to get a good night rest, and don’t forget this is a secret” said Dave

Later that night Tom had arranged a list of things that he needed to buy in order to accompany Dave on his little adventure. Tom thought that Dave had pretended to runaway so, he didn’t put too many clothing items on the list, still he did bring money because after all, you never know.

The next day was a busy one for both tom and Dave. Tom firs went to the bank to withdraw a handsome sum of money that he had been collecting,($100).Dave on the other hand, went to get some bow and arrows from a nearby hunting tavern.

Dave goes to the general store. Tom goes to the Farmers Market. Dave goes to the hiking store. Tom goes to the utility store. And so on and so forth. But in the end they ended up with three backpack loads of stuff, which after some debating with a local cart salesman ended up on their backs.

“And now for the hard stuff” sighed Dave

“Yes, how and when are we going to leave” said Tom

“Well it would be best to leave in the morning when everyone is asleep.” said Dave thoughtfully

“What time?”Asked Tom

“How’s four thirty for you” inquired Dave

“Sure, whatever, oh and where?” replied Tom

“Same hill I had the dream on” commanded Dave

“Ok, see you” exclaimed Tom

Tom woke up at four thirty sharp. How he did this I do not know but maybe it’s the anxiety of the moment or something, but anyway Tom got to the hill and waited for Dave who arrived minutes later.

“Come on, let’s go” Shouted Dave

“Here we go” said tom quietly as he caught up to Dave

“And where exactly would that be” said a familiar disgusting voice

“Let me handle this” whispered Dave to Tom “Oh Lizzie we are just going on a picnic.” Said Dave

“With bows and arrows” replied Lizzie

“Oh fine you got us again, we are going on a journey that could mean our death. And you’re not coming along” mumbled Dave although he regretted saying that “not coming along” part because now he feared Lizzie would tell her father. So he did the next best thing.

“Look Liz we are just going to try to hunt some deer” demanded Dave

“Oh no that won’t work this time, I’m coming along weather you like it or not” exclaimed Lizzie

And despite Dave’s best efforts Lizzie did come along. And amazingly they were able to cooperate more or less. But that would soon stop when they discovered what this journey was really going to be.
